Or, The Whale: BeatCrave Fav

San Francisco-based country indie rock band Or, The Whale is something special all right. We’d like to think that their choice of name signifies the mistake some make in regards to our mammalian cousins – that they are fish, and therefore just one of the many fish in the sea. (Yes, we’re aware of its literally being inspired by Herman Melville’s Moby Dick – we also just happen to have overactive, highly analytical imaginations.) However, just one of the many they are not; we are convinced that one concerted listen will convince you.
With one indulgence of sweet harmonies, carefully executed orchestrations and admirable group chemistry, we’re almost certain will transform most, if not all, into Insta-Fan. Their latest album we could track down was released in 2009, but they’ve a strong following thanks in part to contagious sincerity and endorphin-lifting live performances. Try them out for size in our BeatCrave Fav series below.
