Glee Takes Madonna’s Vogue On Via Sue Sylvester
By Seraphina L.Last night was a special night for Gleeks. Not only did they get two original Broadway cast members of Spring Awakening (Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff) singing together alongside Wicked‘s legendary Idina Menzel, but they also got a preview of the upcoming “Power of Madonna” episode. To get fans even more pumped up, Fox showed their version of “Vogue” which stars none other than the mean Sue Sylvester played by Jane Lynch.
Lynch’s character hardly sings on the show, so it was a special treat to see her all glamorous (and out of track suits) and to hear her belt a Madonna classic. Sue Sylvester suddenly shed her cold-hearted snake skin transformed into a slinky diva who can dance! Cast members of the show also made appearances in the music video.
Of course, it’s in all black and white just like the original and Lynch completely pulls it off with her attitude. She doesn’t sound bad either. She’s contributed vocals to her films, A Mighty Wind and Another Cinderella Story, so the network had the right idea when they requested her to lay a track down for the show.
There are moments when Kurt (played by Chris Colfer) almost breaks out of character but we think that just adds something more personal for the fans.
Check it out below and let us know what you think!
