The Temper Trap really had their chance to shine at this year’s Coachella and boy did they succeed. Sure, they only have one album and somewhat of a hit single under their belt, but at the 2010 Music and Arts Festival, Dougie Mandagi and his amazing band performed for a huge crowd at the Outdoor Theater.

For the most part, it seemed like the audience was there to see The Temper Trap and not just waiting around for the next band (Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros) to begin. It doesn’t surprise me that they’ve developed such a fanbase because lead singer Dougy Mandagi has a beautiful voice and knows how to put on a good show.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, The Temper Trap played “Resurrection,” which sounds even sweeter live than on YouTube. Though they only played a set of five or six tracks, the band jammed a lot after each one, which sort of made up for it. The highlight of the show was when they played their infamous song “Sweet Disposition” off the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack. The crowd exploded with excitement and sang along as they performed.

Based on this 45-minute concert, The Temper Trap passed the Coachella test with flying colors. They kept the audience dancing, cheering, and happy during the entire set and when you’re at a musical festival that’s all that matters.

Did you attend Coachella this year? Did you see the band?

Temper Trap was definitely one of my favorite sets this year at Coachella. Love Dougie's voice and the band's sound.
