VampireWeekend TW 3 10 10 Vampire Weekend To Release More New Music In 2010?

Vampire Weekend haters (a trend just as annoyingly, well, trendy as loving Vampire Weekend’s hyper Caucasoid sorta-kinda Afro-pop) have may have even more cause to lace their Kool-Aid with strychnine this year—according to Tiny Mix Tapes, the young band is planning more releases for 2010, after having already released their popular sophomore effort, Contra, just three months ago.

Frontman Ezra Koenig stated in an interview with the BBC that the band has “a few little things we’ve worked on that’ll come out this year,” and that, moreover, Vampire Weekend had already begun “preliminary talks” about a proposed third album almost immediately after having finished their second.

So there you go, haters—maybe an EP or a handful of new tunes at the very least, and the very real possibility of an entire new album to feed the continually rising bile of backlash.  Try not to have an aneurism or anything, though—really, guys, they’re just a silly pop band.  There are far more serious things happening in the world right now to be worried about—like, say, the escalation of nuclear weapons in the world, the ongoing American recession, and the fact that so many people seem to like MGMT.

What do you think?  Do you want to hear more Vampire Weekend in 2010?
