Michael Jackson Recorded New Material; Will Sony Release It?
By Seraphina L.
Sony recently made a deal with Michael Jackson‘s estate to put out never-released material since his contract with the label still extends into 2017. However, there has been some recent findings according to the NY Daily News, that Jackson has actually recorded entirely new material back in 2007 that no one has heard nor has ever been released to the public. We wonder if this changes the deal between Sony and the late pop singer’s estate.
According to the New York publication (via Showbiz411.com), Jackson spent three months with Eddie (Angel) Cascio in New Jersey where he recorded 12 new tracks including “Breaking News,” “Burn Tonight” and “Water” – all of which can supposedly be heard in Jackson’s posthumous documentary film, This Is It.
Cascio’s family was very close with Jackson’s and the family still frequently visits the estate. They even left a special note in Jackson’s memorial booklet which read:
‘We promise to always remain “The First Family of Love. WE THANK YOU and will love you FOREVER and ALWAYS. ANGEL ‘Dr.Heat’ Cascio and the Cascio Family.”
We haven’t heard from Eddie Cascio in regards to his feelings about the new material but we’re curious to see if he’ll step over the boundaries as family friend and into the shoes of a businessman. Or, perhaps he actually wants this music to be released because he feels the fans deserve it? As we previously mentioned, anything released under Michael Jackson’s name for the next decade or so will most likely have a valuable profit no matter which way you look at it business-wise.
Also, what about Sony? The contract said they would put out unreleased material but that material was known about for some time. Will they do something different for this new material that has just been discovered?
What do you think Sony or Cascio should do with this new material Jackson recorded back in 2007?

They won't release it. They respect Michael and his estate.
It's better left unheard, left to the imagination. Let him rest in peace.
If you really care, just sit quietly for 40 minutes and think in your mind what it would be like.
If Dr. Heat wants to release some new songs in memory of Michael, that would be great.
He wouldn't want this released just to make money. What he did with Michael is special between the two of them. The bond between them knows no boundaries.

I think it would be a wonderful tribute to Michael if Mr. Casio agreed to have the album released, I'm sure MJ would approve and all of MJ's fans want more. I also think Sony owes it to Michael for what they put him through for the past decade…..the release of this album should not be about Sony or money, it should be about Michael and how much he loved doing what he did for his fans and most importantly, how much this new album could help ease the pain of losing this beautifully talented and loving man much, much too soon.

What a stupid article! The material MJ recorded with Cascio IS unreleased so why wouldn't Sony release it? It's exactly what they contracted with the Jackson Estate to do. It's amazing how the writer of this article has turned the announcement of Jackson having recorded new material in 2007 into tabloid trash. Yes, Sony will release it and make millions, just as they are expected to do by all parties involved. DUMB DUMB DUMB!

Wow, the first surprise was the Jacksons signing with Sony after Michael explicitly split from them. The second surprise, is that, yes, we DO hear Michael sing the word "water" in one second of This Is It. It's certainly NO surprise that there is unreleased music from 2007 that Sony had "in a box someplace"…we KNOW the video for "One More Chance" was shelved when the were problems with Tommy Mattola. I guess it remains to be seen if Michael's leftover 2007 music will be released or not. I hope so. Regardless of whether or not they do, Michael's legacy lives on in our hearts forever…and so will his music…old or "new"

I think Mr. Cascio, should put out Michael's recordings, to heck with Sony, what did they ever do for Michael except give him a hard time. get yourself a good lawyer and talk to the Children and Katherine, I am sure they would have no objections. I am anxious to hear any new music Michael, recorded before his death.

"…12 new tracks including “Breaking News,” “Burn Tonight” and “Water” – all of which can supposedly be heard in Jackson’s posthumous documentary film, This Is It."
This is like a game of telephone. Someone writes that Michael sings a snipped of "Water" in "This Is It" and now it gets to your article, and all three songs can be heard in the movie in their entirety. What has happened to journalism?

Tuesday, May 4, 2010 7:28AM
i think fans and family should fight to make sure his hundreds of songs are released cause as far as sony's concerned, they'll do it their way. i think the fans should sign petitions, asuring the release of everything, even if it means redoign the contract.

I hope and pray that the Cascio's give the album to Michael's children when they are of age….NOT give/sell it to Sony! Sony cannot claim rights to the album although they will muscle and bully their way to claim and release it for profit. STOP THE GREED!
Michael's children are the only ones with the right to decide what to do with unreleased music – period! Too much deception going on behind closed doors between Sony and the executors of the estate. Open your eyes people!
May God continue to bless and protect Michael, his children and family. FOREVER LOVEU MICHAEL.
Peace

Becky, from Va. May 6,2010 Yes, please do release the music he recorded. This would be a wonderful gift to Michael's fans. Money isn't the issue, but if there's money to be made, why not let Michael and his friends make it. He certainly has earned it and deserves it, and his fans need this since his death was so sudden, We are hurting and this is something we need so badly. Michael would have wanted us to have this to sooth our pain. We would much rather have MJ himself but if we have no other choice, let us have this last mimento to him. We love him soooo much, always, Bec and Margie May God be with you Michael, know that we love you more darling, so much more.
