You know, Lil’ Wayne just can’t catch a break – while currently serving time in New York’s Rikers Island due to weapons possession charges, the Los Angeles Times reports that Weezy was busted on Monday for possession of “music contraband.”
The rapper was found to have in his possession an unauthorized set of headphones as well a charger for an mp3 player. Moreover, another inmate in the same wing as Lil’ Wayne was caught with a watch that doubles as an mp3 player. Dick Tracy-styled watch technology aside, authorities are currently investigating the situation in an effort to discover how the inmates got their hands on the unauthorized musical swag in the first place.
Lil’ Wayne was busted at 8 AM on Monday morning thanks to a tip from a Rikers Island informant – that guy’s surely gonna face any retribution, I’m sure – and will be charged with a contraband infraction for the headphones possession. While Lil’ Wayne did bring this on himself (the Beatcrave suggestion: stop breaking the law), come on now: a musician listening to music isn’t exactly the end of the world, and may even help the rapper to retain his grasp on all that makes him feel human, alive, and free in the face of dehumanizing institutionalization and an evil warden that constantly forces Weezy to anonymously write his rhymes and beats for him (cue Shawshank theme).
What do you think of Lil’ Wayne’s most recent legal infraction?
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE U WEEZY
