Listen: Muse’s Contribution To Eclipse Soundtrack – Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)
By Seraphina L.
Last week, we went through the painful process of finding out the track list to the latest Twilight soundtrack as the official MySpace Music page revealed it song by song… every half hour… (See how much we love our readers?) However! It turned out the Eclipse soundtrack continued its streak with indie tunes from artist such as Fanfarlo, Florence + The Machine, Bat For Lashes and many more. (You can see the entire track list here.)
Also, a Twilight soundtrack wouldn’t be complete without a Muse track since the band was an inspiration for the series and, of course, is Stephanie Meyer’s’ favorite band. As you can see from our headline, the title of the track is a bit melodramatic but what else is new? Muse is incredibly melodramatic and you Twi-hards are, too. (We say just that because the books are!)
“Nuetron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” – again, SO dramatic – is a love story in itself with the lilting piano intro, Queen-like vocals in the beginning, and drums rushing into the vocals as are guitar solos, which make the song soar much like any other Muse song that has gotten them popular. We wonder what scene this will be put in? We’re pretty sure pale Bella and the very pasty Edward aren’t really running in a field during a moment of bliss as much as they are running from other evil vamps and bickering with werewolves.
All in all, it’s a pretty strong track from Muse and pretty much a perfect fit for the arch of Meyers’ human-vampire-werewolf saga. Take a listen for yourself and tell us what you think!
What do you think of “Neutron Star Collision” from Muse?

junk, they're moving more and more towards queen instead of sticking with the good days of muse (i.e. showbiz, absolution, OOS)

Absolute shit compared to their old stuff. They have a more pop, mainstream sound now. I hate to say it, but I think this song is terrible. Fuck you twilight.

Embarassing song. I miss the old Muse. They did move on, but for the worse. Becoming an arena band made them get the worst of Queen and Rush meshed together. A shame.

Completely agree with old muse fan. Don't really understand why the band has gone in this direction. It's disappointing.

this isn't true muse..what happened to the days of Hysteria? Butterflies and Hurricanes? Come back to the darkness, muse!!!

People this song is not shit. They obviousley are evolving there sound from "old muse" to something different. Any good band should as it would become boring to listen to something all the same. Thats what sets them apart, there ability to evolve.

The vocal line is nearly identical to "the graduation song. "
