Muse Music Video: Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)
By Seraphina L.
We posted the audio for Muse’s song and lead single off of the Eclipse soundtrack a few days ago but we now have the official video that just… well makes us question the Muse/Twilight team-up even more.
Remember how we kept mentioning the term, “melodramatic?” Although the new song is a perfect match for the teen saga, we’re not sure what to say about the track now that the drama has been turned all the way up with clips from the film and Bellamy and his gang just milking this gig as much as they can.
We suppose we should give any band some slack for having to put out a video which requires them to promote a film, but man… this is pretty bad. If you hated anything related to Twilight before, you’ll pretty much hate this video as Muse “rocks out” to K-Stew panting with her mouth open again, Rpattz in excruciating pain, and Taylor Lautner looking pissed off all the time.
If you’re unaware of the basic storyline for Eclipse, just know that “Bella” is having a hard time controlling her feelings for both “Jacob” and “Edward” now that the vamps have returned to their gloomy city again. So, yeah Muse. We get the “Star Collision” part in your melodramatic song title but did you really approve this video where it ends with them sucking face?
Yikes. Watch it below and let us know what you think?
In other Muse news, there have been some changes to their US Fall Tour due to bassist Chris Wolstenholme is expecting a child with wife Kelly in November of 2010.
As a result, the following tour dates have changed: The November 2nd show in Kansas City, MO, and the November 3rd show in St. Louis, MO, will be canceled with ticket refunds at point of purchase. Tickets held for the original dates will be honored for the new dates. [...] it’s got just the right amount of sentimental sap unlike the melodramatic Muse track, “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever).” It could have easily been the lead single. The video from Metric is also much more tolerable [...]
