Today, we are very proud to bring you Portland, Oregon’s Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside – a four-piece band led by a small gal with a simple name but also a gal who holds the depths of soul, folk and rock all in one booming voice. If there is any band out there doing their own thing and not going along with any trends like so many new indie rock bands get caught up and buried in these days, Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside would be the photo next to dictionary terms, “refreshing” and “unique” today.
With her pointy-rimmed glasses and guitar, Sallie Ford and her band members manage to bring back the rawness of music offering a little old-timey mixed in with new catchy pop hooks. Upright bass and guitar should be paired more often and we say this with confidence because when it’s done right, it sounds like this folks.
