Lilith Fair Cancels Another Ten Dates

As we’ve previously reported, despite the success (if by success you mean an endless, rolling field of thousands upon thousands of bros generating a hazy cloud of Axe Body Spray above them like L.A. smog in miniature) of festivals like Coachella, the summer of 2010 is not exactly boding well for music festivals and concert tours – especially Lilith Fair.  The ladies-only festival has been forced to cancel ten more dates from their summer itinerary, after having already cancelled two in Phoenix and Nashville, according to Spinner.

The cancellations – nixing shows in “Salt Lake City, Montreal, Raleigh, N.C., Charlotte, N.C., West Palm Beach, Fla., Tampa, Birmingham, Ala. Austin, Houston and Dallas,” were justified by Lilith co-founder Terry McBride:

“We are in the midst of one of the most challenging summer concert seasons with many tours being cancelled outright… Everyone involved with the tour would like to apologize to the fans and artists scheduled to play in these markets, and express appreciation for all the support for the festival’s return. Lilith remains the only tour of its kind, and we are confident that fans will be amazed by what each date has to offer.”

Not to be a jerk or a spoiler or anything, but one of the amazing things to be offered by Lilith is Ke$ha, so, you know, you might actually wanna consider not going, as a portion of your ticket price goes to line her very, very annoying “hey, I’m wild and crazy just like Gaga, right?  But maybe, like, more whore-y and fun! Wooo!” pockets.
