Here’s a fun/terrifying, musical collaboration to think about over the weekend: Lady Gaga might be working with David Bowie on her upcoming third album.
The Thin White Duke meets Gaga.
Consequence of Sound notes that according to a thread on Gaga Daily, a leaked document from Interscope Records reveals that Lady Gaga may have worked with Bowie on a song called “Vinyl,” where Bowie is listed as co-producer, guitarist and providing vocals.
Well, at least we’re not hearing rumors of a Gaga version of “Let’s Dance.”
Along with the document, the user who posted the inside scoop seems to have heard three tunes: “Far From Me”, “You & I” and “Hooker on A Church Corner.”
Here’s the excerpt from the anonymous source:
Far From Me is a really epic song about a break up and sounds like Poker Face on steroids, You & I is a great ballad about love and Hooker is a really sexy dance track and also really addictive and dark.
None of this is confirmed, so don’t get too excited Gaga fans/non-fans.
While folks like myself shudder at the thought of Bowie mixing it up with Gaga, there’s no denying the collaboration helps Gaga; the already mega popular pop star gains extra credit for being wise enough to track down Bowie for her album, and hey, it can only help the music.
Lady Gaga has previously stated that her third studio album was “my best work to date,” so maybe the Bowie rumors are true.
And if true, then the Ziggy Stardust-Lady Gaga union will certainly be something to look forward to with album number 3.
