Upcoming Release: The Minutes ‘Marcata’

Irish rockers The Minutes are releasing their debut album, Marcata, named after Marcata Studios in upstate New York where the band recorded the entire album. Guitarist Mark Austin and drummer Shane Kinsella are cousins who have been playing together all their lives. Bassist Tom Cosgrave joined the group 9 years ago, and the trio have been rocking together ever since, touring Ireland and the U.K.
The Minutes list Thin Lizzy, Fleetwood Mac, and Peter Green as some of their major influences, but comparing their sound to other bands is almost impossible, as every track holds a conglomeration of influences from bands of the 60s and 70s. They even chose to record Marcata as analog rather than digital to preserve the intensity of their live sound. They released their first single “Black Keys” on iTunes in 2009, and the first single off Marcata, “Secret History,” is now available for purchase on iTunes.
