Radiohead Album Now In Doubt For 2010 Release Radiohead Releases Concert Film Recorded Solely On Camera Phones

Radiohead fans, you’re in luck – especially those homebodies who are too lazy and/ or broke to pay to see the band live and resign themselves to watching shaky, Zapruder film-ish cell phone uploads of the band’s concerts on YouTube.   Well, Radiohead has done you one better by releasing a concert film, recorded in Prague… solely by fans’ cell phone videos.

But before you complain, know this:  according to Entertainment Weekly, the audio for the concert film is taken directly from the soundboard (so it’s pristine), the video has been painstakingly edited and cleaned over a period of months, and –this might help—it’s totally free and available for download on Radiohead’s website.

Radiohead in Prague may not be the first concert film shot exclusively by the fans—both the Beastie Boys and Nine Inch Nails have done this before (expect Trent Reznor to start bitching about this on Twitter sometime soon)—but it is another entry in Radiohead’s burgeoning line of completely free product aimed at their fans, which is finally beginning to make up for the snoozer that was Hail to the Thief.  Also, it’s a lot better than squinting at a hyper-pixilated blur on YouTube that you’re pretty sure is either Thom Yorke or an oddly lazy-eyed microphone stand.

What do you think of Radiohead’s free concert film?

Reznor has always endorsed this between bands and fans. Get your act together before you make more stupid comments..

WOW, a bigger, dumber comment to follow. "Hail to the Thief" a snoozer. Your keyboard should be taken from you.

Wow. Credibility as an online journalist must be icing these days. Apparently being an ill-informed douchebag is the new standard.
