Weezer Announces First Blue-Pinkteron Tour Dates
By Seraphina L.
Weezer‘s video for their latest single, “Memories,” from Hurley may have made Jackasses of themselves and the new tour may be named after the new song but it’s still pretty exciting to know that this tour will focus on the material released when Weezer seemed like they could do no wrong. Let’s be honest, “The Blue Album” (self-titled debut LP) and Pinkerton were the albums that really solidified their fan base.
Hardcore Weezer fans can now rejoice because the first two tour dates of the Blue/Pinkerton tour were just announced. The tour will have the band play a city two nights in a row with the first evening featuring songs from The Blue Album while the second night features songs from Pinkerton. See below if they’re hitting your town first!
Weezer “Memories” Tour Dates (so far):
09/24 Columbus, OH @ Ohio State University
09/25 Peoria, IL @ Bradley University
09/30 Atlanta, GA @ Chastain Park Amphitheatre
10/01 Las Vegas, NV @ Mirage Hotel and Casino
10/29 New Orleans, LA @ Voodoo Festival
11/26 Los Angeles, CA @ Gibson Amphitheatre (Memories Tour)
11/27 Los Angeles, CA @ Gibson Amphitheatre (Memories Tour)
11/29 San Francisco, CA @ Nob Hill Masonic Center (Memories Tour)
11/30 San Francisco, CA @ Nob Hill Masonic Center (Memories Tour)
As you can see, there are actually a few dates before the Memories Tour. So some of you may be able to catch them play a regular show beforehand. If you’re one of those cities and bummed the tour starts after they play your town, don’t worry. More dates will be announced soon. Keep checking back with us or at Weezer’s official site.
In other Weezer news, Pitchfork has pointed out that the band’s website also mentions a forthcoming “quadruple” vinyl set is in the works and things have been sailing smoothly in regards to processing that. (We know it has more albums but will it be cooler than the Triple Decker Record Third Man Records just released?)
Will you be attending any of these Weezer dates?
