Rolling Stones Shoot Down Rumors That Charlie Watts Is Quitting Rolling Stones To Release Vinyl Box Sets

The Rolling Stones have a nice treat in store for their fans: two, limited edition vinyl box sets covering 40-plus years of the Rolling Stones’ legendary career.

The remastered, limited edition releases, due out November 23, group together 23 studio albums, as well as compilation albums and EPs.

The vinyl box sets are arranged in a chronological manner; the first set features the band’s work from 1964-69. The second covers a larger time period, 1971-2005, which features classic titles like Sticky Fingers, Goats Head Soup and Exile on Main Street.

Pressings in The Rolling Stones 1964-1969 and The Rolling Stones 1971-2005 vinyl box sets arrive on 180-gram virgin heavyweight vinyl, part of the Back-to-Black classic vinyl reissue series.

The first five titles in the set are presented in their original mono format, which means for the first time in years, Stones fans can enjoy remastered versions of the tracks “I Can’t Be Satisfied,” “Time Is On My Side” (Version 2) and “Down the Road Apiece” as originally released.

Through the Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) is included with its original octagonal cover and artwork intact.

Metamorphosis is also included in the vinyl set; the album was first released in 1975 but is wholly comprised of tracks recorded from the early-to-late sixties. The inclusion of the band’s original two “Big Hits” collections was mandated by the fact that U.K. album releases in that era most often did not include contemporaneously released hit singles.

Much of this music hasn’t been available on vinyl for a considerable period of time, so vinyl enthusiasts with a passion for the Stones should be preparing the turntable right about now.

ABKCO Records and Universal Music Group teamed up to offer the two, vinyl box set collections.

Where are the various 'LIVE' EP's and Albums? They are all it seems missing. Does this mean that there will be a separate release of all 'LIVE' material at a later date? The Rolling Stones 'LIVE' recordings have always been fantastic for true Rolling Stones fans. 'Love You Live' being one, the other 'The Rolling Stones 'LIVE' EP.
