Let the name speak for itself – Hooray for Earth. That’s basically what these New York boys are all about. They like keeping a positive attitude. Originally from Boston, but now living in the Big Apple, Hooray for Earth self-released a full-length album, by the same name, in 2006. The band took a brief hiatus in 2007, but since their return they’ve been gaining a lot of recognition in the New York/Brooklyn music scene.

Yes, their music is pop And before you roll your eyes at another pop band, know this – Hooray for Earth has away of making their pop, pop. They take great melodies and play them so that they sink in smoothly. They’re not trying to hit you over the head with a hammer. It’s easy for this type of music to become bad because it’s somewhat easy to do, but Hooray for Earth know how to make it work. They released an EP, Momo, in mid-2010 and are playing a whole bunch of shows right now, so be sure to catch them when they come to your town. Check them out in our BeatCrave Fav series below…
