Lady Gaga And Elton John To Record Duet For Disney Film
By Travis Woods
You remember that scene at the end of the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, where star Kevin McCarthy is screaming at the screen, warning us that imminent doom is upon us? Well, I never thought I’d have a chance to warn my fellow populace in such a manner—that is, until today. Because today, I’ve been given a chance to warn you all that—sigh, deep breath—Lady Gaga and Elton John are set to record a duet for the upcoming Disney film, Gnomeo and Juliet. This is the end, folks.
According to MTV:
“According to “Entertainment Weekly,” the dynamic piano duo are planning on releasing a duet called “Hello, Hello” on the soundtrack to the forthcoming animated Disney film “Gnomeo & Juliet.” The magazine describes the tune as “a charming pop track,” and reports that it will be heard when the movie’s two lead characters — lawn ornaments voiced by James McAvoy and Emily Blunt, respectively — first meet.
“‘Gnomeo & Juliet,’ produced by Sir Elton and his longtime partner, David Furnish, is slated to premiere on February 11, 2011.”
Lady Gaga and Elton John singing a song for a Disney film cleverly titled Gnomeo and Juliet (get it? Get it?) Hide your children, America. This… this cannot be good.
What do you think about an Elton John/ Lady Gaga duet?
