Rihanna Recording With Pal Katy Perry

When Rihanna was found to be suspiciously absent from Katy Perry’s October wedding to Russell Brand, some speculated that the friendship between these two pop sensations was on the rocks. Well the tabloid reporters can quit drooling and the teen fans can rest easy; not only are the stars as close as ever, but they are also collaborating with one another on some new tunes.

Speaking with MTV, Rihanna said, “We’re actually working on some music together.” If the songs are successful enough, Rihanna hopes to take the show on the road. “I would love to tour with Katy. She’s a rock star. And when I see her live, she just brings such a fun [vibe], like a colorful rock star.”

Ok, so perhaps she isn’t all that articulate when discussing her fondness for a friend, but Rihanna certainly knows how to draw in a pop audience. Teaming her up with Katy Perry could prove to be a goldmine. We’re not too interested in this particular “supergroup,” but you can be sure that more than a few kids will be.

In the meantime, Rihanna has a new album, Loud, hitting stores on November 10. Her work with Perry will not be featured on that release.

Let's hope this quartet never releases an album.
