The long-awaited news that the world has been desperately clamoring for has finally been leaked—according to Spinner, Dave Navarro has announced the fourth Jane’s Addiction record will be released in early 2011. Whew! For a minute there I thought they were going to be content with tarnishing their once-great legacy with just 2003’s so-so Strays; to know that they’ll be releasing another past-their-prime disc that doesn’t have a chance of living up to their first two albums… well, it’s just comforting, you know?
So says Navarro:
“Jane’s is doing good… We’re actually writing quite a bit and getting ready to go into the studio in December. [We will] start recording tracks and [will] hopefully have something by early next year.”
The news comes on the heels of yet another lineup shift to the constantly shifting act:
“After returning to action two years ago, the Perry Farrell-fronted band toured with original bassist Eric Avery. When Avery left the band for a second time in late 2009, Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan stepped in only to depart in September 2010. For the follow-up to 2003′s ‘Strays,’ the band is purportedly working with bassist Chris Chaney.”
