U2′s Spider-Man Musical Is Now Giving People Concussions
By Travis Woods
Look, Broadway, this isn’t even fun anymore—I mean, sure, at first it was a blast to make fun of anyone whose hubris allowed them to think that a $60 million Broadway musical about Spider-Man with songs written by U2 was anything but a really, really terrible idea, but this has gone too far. Yeah, it was fun when we all heard that the show was halted five times during its preview premiere, with the actors literally left dangling from the ceiling when harnesses broke down and stopped working, but jeez—someone’s gonna lose an arm before this thing finally collapses under its own weight.
According to Spinner:
“During the performance Natalie Mendoza, who plays new character Arachne in ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’, found herself stuck for 10 minutes, suspended above the crowd.
“Now it has emerged that Mendoza suffered a concussion after being hit by a rope offstage, the New York Times reports:.
“’Natalie Mendoza suffered an injury and, on doctor’s orders, will be out of the show for a brief time,’ lead producer Michael Cohl said in a statement. Although the actress did return for the second performance she has now decided to follow medical advice…
“The show features 27 flying sequences and countless pieces of moving scenery.”
Sigh, I guess the lesson isn’t learned yet. Maybe after Bono’s ego is crushed beneath the collapse of a massive scale model of The Daily Bugle building. Then again, that probably wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
What do you think of the Spider-Man production?

This was an atrocity when it was announced and an abomination when it not only began production but actually got released. This thing should have died and been put to rest when it had to chance around this time last year.
I hope Bono and his ego learn from this: You can't save every thing with your money, power and contacts.
