Gorillaz Have Not Broken Up (Probably)
By Travis Woods
Fans of animated pop bands that you kinda sorta only enjoy because you miss Blur so badly, rejoice—Gorillaz, despite rumors to the contrary, have not broken after all.
According to Gibson, it all started when People magazine dropped a little nugget claiming that Gorillaz founders Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett were not getting along:
“’There’s been a massive argument that has basically ended things,’ the source said. ‘Jamie’s gone abroad to be with his girlfriend, while Damon is busy with his opera and with the return of Blur. For now, it looks like it could be the end of Gorillaz.’”
Not true, says the band (or their representatives, at least):
“Despite rumours to the contrary, Gorillaz are alive and well and misbehaving in London W10.”
So we can all breath a sigh relief, content in the knowledge that Gorillaz will continue to thrill us all for years to come with their inimitable blend of pretty-ok to pretty-great albums and super-snoozy and boring festival headlining sets. Oh, and they’ll continue to allow snots like myself to grouse about how they’re distracting Albarn from finally getting back to Blur (which is what he totally should do, right guys? C’mon!… Anybody?)
What do you think of the Gorillaz news?

They may have been snoozy before but the last tour was pretty damn phenomenal.

To me, this sounded like you couldn’t care less about gorillaz. If you’re going to report on a subject, at least be enthusiastic about it, or how about this, actually care.
