Rascal Flatts Record Song With Justin Bieber
By Joseph Oliveto
With the line between country and pop thinning these days thanks to the likes of Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum, it’s no surprise that popular artists in the genre are looking to attract a wider audience. While the group Rascal Flatts hasn’t ever experienced the massive success of Swift, they are icons in their own right, and according to ShowBiz Spy, they recently gave their popularity a boost by recording a song with none other than Justin Bieber.
According to the article, the song, called “That Should Be Me,” will appear on the upcoming Bieber release Never Say Never: The Remixes.
While Rascal Flatts isn’t exactly a group that pulls in the pre-teen girls the way that Bieber does, they’ve still got a fairly decent following and this collaboration will likely be enjoyed by listeners who go for that kind of music. However, where Rascal Flatts is pure country-pop, Bieber’s brand of pop owes more to hip-hop. It will be interesting to see who which artist changes their sound to accomodate the other.
In our opinion, neither option seems desirable. We doubt Rascal Flatts can pull off hip-hop, and even if Justin Bieber can succeed as a country artist, maybe we don’t want him to. Taylor Swift filled that niche fine, and we don’t need someone else to join in.
Are you looking forward to hearing what this collaboration sounds like? Tell us in the comments!

Rascal Flatts has never experienced the success of Taylor Swift…? Yes, as a matter of fact, they have. Please do your research before writing an article about an artist you clearly know nothing about.
