Folk is thriving in the 21st century, who would’ve thought? The indie kids are taking a shot at it and so are the contemporaries. Singer-songwriter Jason Spooner falls in the latter. Spooner is at the forefront of a folk-and-blues influenced trio (Adam Frederick and Reed Chambers). The New England-band has played many festivals including SXSW, and Spooner has won songwriting contests like the 2004 John Lennon Songwriting Competition.

Late last year, Spooner released their third album Sea Monster. Unlike previous projects, it focused on the instrument, so there’s a drastic deviation from the past. Check him out in our BeatCrave Fav series below…
