Sasquatch Music Festival 2011: Recap
By Carl PocketAfter four days of music in the Pacific Northwest all we can hope for is that next year we get an even more expanded five days. Trough the sunshine, grey clouds, rain and the occasional outburst of lightning we got to experience everything that is Washington and The Sasquatch Music Festival. Oh, and we got to see a ton of kicking music the entire time.
Whether it be up at the rail at the main stage watching lightning streak the sky as the pitter patter of rain fell down to WIlco, or getting out of the sun and catching a stripped down set by the Decemberists in the acoustic tent, there was never a dull moment over the Memorial Day weekend.
It was also a happy 10th year for Sasquatch and we were honored to share in the festivities and fun. We only wish that we would have nabbed a piece of the giant Sasquatch cake before Wayne Coyne, singer of The Flaming Lips, decided to rip it into pieces and cake the crowd with it.
While we stopped by every stage, visited all the tents, and even got some time to hang out with a few of the bands around the grounds, there was still so much that we couldn’t get the chance to see at the fest.

This was my first time to Sasquatch and it was amazing! From day one though four the trip was nothing short of unbelievable. Some of my favorite moments were; Foo Fighters, who showed us how rock bands really do it, Flaming Lips birthday celebration and the Luke Skywalker appearance and of course the Head and the Heart End Session on the RedLaser stage. I even pulled together a Storify post see it here: http://storify.com/davidklayton/sasquatch2011
