Friday may have been Phriday for all the Phish fans, there was plenty going on at golden gate park for everyone that wasn’t into watching a 4 hour marathon set. While we stopped and enjoyed the hippie jam masters at work we couldn’t just limit our evening to just one group.
While We did end our evening dancing in circles with people of all ages to Phish we also spent some of our day watching Tamaryn flip her hair, but not quite in the way that Sarah of Phantogram did. We heard the musical stylings of the “#1 white reggae rapper”, Collie Buddz, which caused everyone including us at Beatcrave to throw our hands up in the air and wave em around like we just didn’t care. And speaking of hands, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, did nothing but cause a crowd to intentionally sing-a-long slightly out of key. From the out of tune to the in tune acoustic stylings of a surprise set (one day early) by The Stone Foxes, we tried to do it all on Friday, but still never managed to make it over to “Food Truck Forest” for a deep fried pickle.
Good thing we still have two more days. And enjoy some pictures from around the festival of the sites we saw on Friday at Outside Lands 2011.
