Amy Winehouse’s Family Give First Interview to “Anderson”
By Candace ButlerThat’s right. Anderson Cooper’s new talk show entitled Anderson (what else?) will premiere on CNN Monday, September 12th, booking Mitch and Janis Winehouse (Amy’s parents), Alex Winehouse (her brother), and Reg Traviss (her boyfriend) as his first interviewees. It should be noted that this will be the first public interview with Winehouse’s family since Amy’s tragic passing on July 23rd.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cooper said of the interview:
We want it to be a look at what happened to her and the struggles that she was facing and the struggles that the family was facing in trying to get [her] help and her incredible talent and career
The interview itself is scheduled to take place on Friday at the show’s Jazz at Lincoln Center studio. Allegedly, it will examine Amy’s self-destructive behavior and her family’s attempts to help her over the years, as Cooper states: “What’s remarkable about this family is they’ve been so public before her death about trying to get her help.” Obviously, the crux of the interview is to be her family’s struggle for intervention. We’ll hold further comments until we’ve heard the interview.
What about you? Will you be tuning in to the interview on CNN on Monday?
