Razer: BeatCrave Fav
By Candace ButlerPhoenix, Arizona-based rockers Razer are not your typical screamo metal-heads–all five members are talented (and successful) musicians who came together in the interest of creating a sound that mixed the abrasiveness of instrumental heavy rock/metal with loose, fluid vocals. It’s no wonder they have a long list of endorsements and credentials. Vocalist Chris Powers’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” (move over, Charlie Daniels) has been downloaded 10 million times since it’s appearance on Guitar Hero. Bassist and official spokesman of Krank Amplification Chris Catero recently toured as the bassist for ex-Megadeath guitarist Marty Friedman, who co-wrote the song “Do You Want It” off Razor’s latest album, Dark Devotion. Dark is a rad combination of highlighted riffs, driving beats, and melodic arrangements that have both an edgy, tight feel to each track and radio playability (no wonder they have consistent rotation on Sirius XM Octane). Razer has shared the stage with the likes of Hurt, Judas Priest, and Shinedown–now check them out in our BeatCrave Fav series below!
