It was an interesting weekend for music news, with information leaking about the fact that the super-wealthy Madonna has a homeless brother, Amy Winehouse’s official death report has been lost in the mail, Loretta Lynn has become seriously ill, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5 will be joining the American Music Awards (God help us all), and more…
Check out our new roundup after the jump.
- Madonna has a homeless brother: Madonna’s older brother, Anthony Ciccone, “revealed that he is currently homeless in an interview with the Michigan Messenger”:
“My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time…You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times – why my sister is a multibazillionaire, and I’m homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody.”
Gosh—Madonna? Mean? Who woulda thought?
- An official report outlining the circumstances of Amy Winehouse’s death has been… lost in the mail. According to Rolling Stone, “the file, which outlines the circumstances of the singer’s death in July, was sent to the singer’s family, but they have not yet received the package.” Whoops. Scotland Yard is currently making inquiries into the disappearance.
- Billboard has it that the 76 year old Loretta Lynn is down with early stage pneumonia, and will have to cancel scheduled performances. Last August, Lynn had to cancel gigs due to knee surgery. Here’s hoping she recovers soon.
- Billboard also notes that Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Mary J. Blige and Christina Aguilera will be joining forces to appear on the 2011 American Music Awards. God help us all.
What do you think of the weekend’s news?
I think what people fail to realize who don't know the real story is that Madonna has apparently helped him out and the family and gone beyond the call of duty. This guy is a druggie and is always getting himself into trouble. You can only enable people so much before they start abusing it. No one is just kicked out of a job. He certainly doesn't have Madonna's work ethic. The down on his luck side of this story is the only part being revealed. Where's the rest of it? Poor journalism.
Madonna preaching a moral standard and her friends wasting millions of the charity money for the girls school they let fail, to infringe upon others art "reinventing" it for profit then use Unicef to make people more giving and then purchase a 4o million dollar home after concerts using the plight of the world, shows her care for nothing. Her music is a wash out here's some lyrics "Music Makes The People Come Together", "Holiday"-that is so not true for most residents of Michigan especially Detroit. Madonna placed some sort of impetus on the morals of the media so whats the problem with them questioning her position on how she cares? A Madonna song titled "keep it together" lyrics....."brothers and sisters they have always been there for me, we have a connection, home is where the heart should be......" Madonna is a fraud and has been for years.
