Bruce Springsteen Announces 2012 E Street Band Tour, New Album
By Travis Woods
Ok, deep breaths everyone—brace yourselves. After months of “will-he, won’t he?” after the death of saxophonist Clarence Clemmons, Bruce Springsteen has announced that he will be released a new Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band record next year. Not only that—the Boss and his band will be launching a world tour.
It’s a big relief for Springsteen fans—following the death of Clemmons this summer, rumor began to spread that the E Street Band simply couldn’t carry on (imagine the Rolling Stones without Keith Richards). However, Springsteen has decided to push onward, announcing on his website that he and E Street Band have nearly completed a new record, and plan on touring behind it in 2012, hitting Europe first, and then coming back home to tour the United States:
Well, things are starting to heat up down on E Street.
A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.
In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we’re planning for 2012. That’s all the info we have for right now, but we’ll get back to you–real soon.
So far, only four dates have been announced, and they’re all European. But rest easy—the Boss will be coming to America soon after.
