Jon Von Jovi isn’t ready to roll around in his grave just yet. The famed singer is the latest celebrity victim of a Twitter death hoax. Fans will be happy to know that Bon Jovi is alive and well, and prepping for a charity concert in New Jersey.

News first broke about the singer’s (fake) death on a website called The International Business Times. Their story claimed that a press release was circulating the web detailing that Bon Jovi was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack and that thousands of reported were waiting outside to learn of the singer’s fate. The news spread like wildfire through the Twitter universe and before long Bon Jovi was being pronounced dead.

But, of course, it was all a big hoax, as the singer is very much alive. Bon Jovi put an end to the hoax by having his photographer friend David Bergman snap a photo of him (photo above) holding up a sign that pretty much said that if he’s dead then heaven looks a lot like New Jersey, and dated it. Bergman sent out the photo via his Twitter and added:

I happened to be with Jon Bon Jovi when we heard rumors of his death. He’s alive and well and I shot this to prove it.

Bon Jovi’s rep also confirmed that the singer was alive, well, and still planning to play at a charity concert tonight in New Jersey. Bon Jovi now joins a long list of celebrities like Jackie Chan, Jim Carrey, Britney Spears and Morgan Freeman that have falsely been pronounced dead by Twitter.

Did you believe Jon Bon Jovi was dead?
