Pop Music Sweeps The People’s Choice Awards 2012

The People’s Choice Awards of 2012 were held last night in Los Angeles, and, in addition to actually handing an award out to Kim Kardashian for “Best Celebrity” (seriously), the awards ceremony further pointed out its obsolescence and pointlessness by doling out best music awards to such illustrious musicians as Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, and, of course, Katy Perry.

You can dig the full music awards winners below (check out the full list over at ScreenCrave), but below are the artists that the People’s Choice Awards apparently believe were the best of the best over the past year: Demi Lovato, Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Eminem, and Taylor Swift.

That’s right—forget Radiohead, PJ Harvey, the Black Keys, or anyone else who released a great record last year.  We all know that when it came down to musical perfection, Katy Perry was where it was at.
