For weeks, Adele‘s 21 has been at the top of the Billboard albums chart, but this week is special. 21 is celebrating a Sweet 16. Adele’s sophomore album has spent 16 weeks at No. 1, matching Titanic‘s own 16-week run atop the chart in 1998.

In 1997, the Titanic soundtrack, which included Celine Dion‘s massive hit sensation “My Heart Will Go On,” began its long stay at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. According to the Hollywood Reporter, there are only three other records that have stayed on top longer than 16 weeks (ever since SoundScan’s sales data began powering the Billboard 200 tally in May of 1991). In 1992, Billy Ray CyrusSome Gave All topped the chart for 17 weeks; in 1991-1992, Garth BrooksRopin’ the Win stayed on top for 18 weeks; and in 1992-1993, the Whitney Houston-driven soundtrack to The Bodyguard remained No. 1 for an amazing 20 weeks. This means our dear Adele is only a few weeks away from a tie between her 21 and The Bodyguard soundtrack.

This past week, the record sold an additional 104,000 copies, bringing its total to over 6 million.

In a few weeks, Adele will head to the Grammy Awards, where she’s nominated in six different categories. Chances are she’ll dominate the awards show, just like she’s dominating the charts.
