Unfortunately, Glee Won’t Be Touring This Summer

It looks like McKinley’s Glee club will be staying in Lima, Ohio this year. According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast of Fox’s hit musical show “Glee” won’t be touring this summer. Instead, the cast will perform a one-time benefit show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Does no tour mean no more “Glee”? Find out below.
If you were one of the Gleeks looking forward to another ‘Glee Live! In Concert’ summer tour, blame Ryan Murphy. The show’s creator has fought long and hard to get his cast some time off. 16 hour days are tough, and he wants his cast to be nice and rested, but for what?
“Glee” hasn’t been renewed for a fourth season yet. Could no summer tour mean that there won’t be a fourth season? Not exactly. So far, the show has been doing pretty well, with solid ratings and songs selling well on iTunes.
Last year, the ‘Glee’ tour was the 16th most successful concert tour, making over $40 million. Fox may not be on board with the whole ‘cancelled tour’ thing, but at least the whole gang will take a few months off and be fresh for the fall, if they end up coming back.
