Jerry Lee Lewis Once Again Does The Classy Thing And Weds His Cousin’s Ex-WifeBy Travis Woods
Jerry Lee Lewis, best known for being the rock ‘n roll revolutionary who brought such hip shaking tunes as “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” and “Great Balls of Fire” to the masses in the 1950s, changing rock music forever. Also notable about his past? How he nearly ruined his career entirely in 1957 by marrying his 13 year old cousin when he was 22. Fast forward a half-century, and the man known as The Killer has just sealed the deal on his seventh marriage—to the ex-wife of another cousin.
In 1957, Lewis married his 13 year old cousin, Myra Gale Brown (Lewis defended the situation by asserting that she was only his cousin once removed, and that he thought she was actually 15—which makes all the difference, you see). And now, several divorces and marriages later, The Killer’s nuptial life is again making headlines.
CNN is reporting that on March 9, in Natchez, Mississippi, Lewis married Judith Brown. This is notable because Brown used to be married to Rusty Brown. Rusty Brown, in addition to being a drummer who has performed with Lewis since they were children, also happens to be Jerry Lee Lewis’ cousin. Not only that, but Rusty Brown is the brother of Myra Gale Brown—that’s right, Jerry Lee’s controversial child bride.
So there you have it. Today’s BeatCrave news post essentially became a bad Hee Haw sketch.
