A few weeks ago, Mumford & Sons keyboardist Ben Lovett revealed that the band had finished recording their new album, but didn’t specify when said album would be released. Now, it’s been confirmed. According to Paste, the band’s album release date is September 24. And that’s not all. The folk band will also embark on a U.S. mini-festival tour in August.
Mumford & Sons’ followup to their debut Sigh No More is set to be released this September. The band made the announcement from the stage at the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands on Monday. Again, it was Lovett who revealed their planned released date.
Along with their new record, Mumford & Sons have also announced that they will go on a series of “Gentleman of the Road Stopovers” in August. This isn’t officially a tour, but close.
According to Paste, The Stopovers will be miniature, one-day festivals curated by the band. There will be local vendors and business, as well as other bands like The Maccabees, Grouplove and The Very Best, all handpicked by Mumford & Sons. These stops will take place in Monterey, Calif., Dixon, Ill., Portland, Maine and Bristol, Va. For more information on that, head to the Official Gentlemen Of The Road website.
