News Roundup: Lauryn Hill Dodged Taxes, Elvis Hologram, Obama Mashup Video And MoreBy Laura Aguirre
This week, the IRS announced that rapper Lauryn Hill avoided paying taxes and could face some lengthy jail time because of it. Also, Elvis and Tupac might soon share something in common. We’ve also got a video of President Obama singing an infectiously catchy song. Catch up on this week’s news below.
- Lauryn Hill Avoided Taxes: Ms. Hill pulled a Martha Stewart. According to Vulture, the IRS is saying that Hill didn’t file her income tax for three years (2005-2007). This means that she could potentially end up in jail for up to three years.
- Elvis Hologram: It’s started. The holograms are coming. First up – Elvis. Vulture reports that Digital Domain, the company that helped resurrect Tupac at Coachella 2012, will produce a series of digital Elvises for a number of projects.
- Miley Cyrus Is Engaged: 19-year-old pop star Miley Cyrus is engaged to Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth (real-life brother of Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth). Does this mean she’ll retire from music and become a housewife? We highly doubt it.
- Obama Mashup: And lastly, check out this mashup video of President Obama singing Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe.” A song that’s very difficult to avoid right now.
