The forever awesome Spice Girls reunited in London on Tuesday to announce their upcoming musical Viva Forever! Said show will be based on hit songs by the five piece group and tell the tale of friendship and fame. Basically a stage adaptation of Spice World.
A couple of years ago, we announced that the 90s girl group would set out to conquer the world with their “girl power” on Broadway. The plan was to make the Spice Girls’ music as timeless as ABBA‘s music with Mamma Mia! With the help of Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer, Viva Forever! might very well do exactly that because Craymer is also the mastermind behind this stage adaptation.
So, on Tuesday, Victory “Posh” Beckham, Melanie “Scary” Brown, Emma “Baby” Buton, Melanie “Sporty” Chisholm and Geri “Ginger” Halliwell all united to announce the show.
Viva Forever! will center around four women whose friendship is put to the test when their band competes on a TV talent competition. The show will include hit songs like “Say You’ll Be There” and “Spice Up Your Life.”
The show will open at London’s Piccadilly Theater on December 11th, with previews starting November 27th.
