Despite the fact that he’s busy still wrenching the American economy out of a recession, there’s a presidential election happening in a few months, and that fact in general that he’s the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet, President Barack Obama was talking about Nicki Minaj during a radio interview on Monday morning.
That’s right—despite that fact that Minaj is, well Nicki Minaj, Obama actually dedicated wrinkles in his brain to discussing the hip hop singer during an interview. Why?
Some context: Lil Wayne released the Dedication 4 mixtape last week, which features the following Minakj rap:
“I’m a Republican, voting for Mitt Romney / You lazy b*****s is f****n’ up the economy.”
And for reasons to bizarre for us to comprehend, the political stance of a single American citizen is now newsworthy, likely because she wears silly clothes. And Obama has bravely faced down this tough issue during an interview with the Orlando, Florida radio station Power 95.3:
“Yeah, I’m not sure that’s actually what happened. I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But she likes to play different characters. So I don’t know what’s going on there…”
There you have it, folks! Fascinating news, no?
President Obama went on to say he doesn’t feel his daughters listen to Minaj:
“I don’t think they really listen to Nicki Minaj that much,” he said. “But let’s face it, they are now hipper than me. There’s a certain point where your kids get old enough where they’re hipper than you are.”
Glad we got all of that cleared up.
What do you think of the Minaj news?
