Eminem has said he’s prepping his next album, but until now hadn’t revealed when exactly his follow-up to Recovery would be released. This week, we got that confirmation… on a hat. The rapper announced that his next record would arrive in 2013. Also, the lawsuit filed against Britney Spears was finally thrown out due to insufficient evidence. And the Avett Brothers gave an emotional tribute to Brooklyn during its time of need. All that and more below.

  • Eminem Announced New Album On Hat: It’s be a couple of years since Eminem released his last album, and it looks like he’s ready to give us more music. The rapper’s recently released an “Eminem Baseball Tribute Champ Hat” that is styled like a Detroit Tigers ball cap. On the side of it, there’s a series of years, each marking the release year of his solo albums. 2013 is the last year, meaning a new record is on its way.   • Cat Power’s European Tour Is Still On: Earlier this week we reported that Cat Power was most likely going to call off her European tour due to health and financial problems. According to Pitchfork, the singer is not canceling the tour. Chan Marshall posted a tweet confirming the tour, saying: “European tour is on. Without stage presentation. Hard money wasted. #goodbye #gorilla.”
  • Judge Throws Out Lawsuit Against Britney Spears: Sam Lufti, the man who claimed to be Britney Spears’ manager at some point during her career, filed a lawsuit against the singer on allegations of defamation, assault and breach of contract. Lufti claimed that Spears hired him to be her manager in 2007, and said he was entitled to 15 perfect of her earnings during the months he worked for her. The case was thrown out this week, after a Los Angeles judge cited that there was insufficient evidence to move forward with the trial. Source: Rolling Stone
  • Avett Brothers Pay Emotional Tribute To New York: The Avett Brothers gave an emotional and beautiful tribute to Brooklyn on Jimmy Kimmel this week. The band, backed by the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra, performed “I and Love and You,” the title track off their 2009 album. Check it out:
