The Grammy nominees were finally announced this week. There were a lot of surprises in the categories, including the fact that no female artist is up for Best Album Of The Year. But the ladies weren’t the only ones who got snubbed. Justin Bieber was also left out of the running. The teenage sensation received zero nominations, and that got his manager, Scooter Braun very upset. Also, Dave Grohl released the trailer for his music-documentary Sound City, which is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival early next year. All that and more below.
- New Phoenix Record Coming In 2013: Phoenix‘s follow-up to their best-selling 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix will hit stores April 2013. The band’s label, Glassnote Records, announced that the band had just finished recording the album in a studio in Paris. Source: Billboard
- Justin Bieber Got Snubbed: The Grammy nominees were announced this week, and there were a lot of artists who were left with nothing. Among the snubbed is Justin Bieber, who got zero nominations. His manager Scooter Braun went on a Twitter rant, saying that Bieber deserved to get nominated. He wrote, “I just plain DISAGREE. The kids deserved it. - Lamb Of God Frontman Charged With Manslaughter: This week was bad for Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. The singer was charged with manslaughter in a court in Prague. The charges come from the time Blythe pushed a fan from the stage during a 2010 concert, and the man hit his head on the concrete floor and died from injuries two weeks later. The singer will fight the manslaughter charge, but if convicted, he could face 5-10 years in prison. Source: Billboard
- Sound City Trailer: Dave Grohl’s directorial debut, Sound City, is set to premiere at Sundance Film Festival next year. The film tells the story of the Van Nuys, California studio which played host to acts like Fleetwood Mac and Nirvana. Here’s the official trailer, have a look:
