Indie rockers Cold War Kids (who seriously don’t get enough recognition for being such awesome musicians) have announced the release of their fourth album Dear Miss Lonelyhearts. It’ll be here in early April! They’ll be supporting the record with an extensive tour in both the U.S. and Europe.

Dear Miss Lonely Hearts is set to hit stores on April 2. The band’s fourth studio album was produced by Lars Stalfors (Matt & Kim, Funeral Party) and Dann Gallucci (Modest Mouse), who also replaced the group’s guitarist Jonathan Russell after he quit in late 2011. The band also videotaped their album’s recording process (near their studio in San Pedro, CA), and will provide fans with a series of short trailers that document their creative process. We have the first trailer below:

Lead singer (and angel) Nathan Willett said that the band was ready to experiment with new styles and arrangements for the new record.

“We were shaken up, ready to let certain songs go further than before by trying new styles and arrangements, while keeping others sparse and caring more about the finished product and less about how we got there.”

The album’s first single is titled “Miracle Mile,” and it features the band’s raw musical style and a fast-paced tempo, along with Willett’s distinctive high-pitch voice.. Hear the track below:

The band also announced an extensive tour of the U.S., U.K. and Europe. Tickets start going on sale tomorrow at 1 PM. Head to the band’s official website for more details.
