When Zooey Deschanel isn’t being cute on her TV sitcom The New Girl, she’s being cute with her ’60s-infused band She & Him. The band – which also includes prolific indie songwriter M. Ward – has just announced that their new album will hit stores this spring. They’ll support the record with a summer tour.
The duo confirmed that Volume 3 will be released on May 7, via Twitter.

“She & Him will release their 3rd studio album of original material this Spring! Volume 3 is out 5/7 (North America, 5/13 (UK/Europe).”

Despite what the album title might suggest, Volume 3 is actually the band’s fourth effort. They previously released a full-length Christmas record in 2011. The duo have been keeping busy with other projects. M. Ward just released a solo album last year, and Deschanel is the lead of her own TV show, which is basically like a full-time job.

Volume 3 will offer 11 original new tunes (which will feature a bunch of disco grooves and Deschanel’s sweet love lyrics), and 3 covers. The duo will offer their rendition of Blondie‘s “Sunday Girl.” The record also features guest contributions from Mike Watt, Tilly And The Wall, and members of NRBQ, Rilo Kiley, and Devotchka.

She & Him will go on a summer tour that’ll last around one month, starting in June. They’ll even play the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. For more information on tour dates, head over to the band’s official site.
