Prince being Prince, he surprised everyone this week with a tour announcement (via his backing band, 3rd Eye Girl, on a podcast hosted by Dr. Funkenberry—yes, these are all real names and rather Prince-appropriate): The Purple One will be hitting the West Coast for 28 separate shows in seven cities.
It works out like this: Prince will play each city for two days in a row. Each day, he’ll play two shows (an early show and a late show), making for a total of 28 live sets. The selected cities are Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, and Anaheim. In addition to that, Prince is scheduled to play sets later this year in Switzerland, Sweden, and Denmark. Ticket information will be released next week.
