Of all the hopes that one could have for Anne Frank—that she and her family would not have be persecuted by the Nazis the early 1940s, that she wouldn’t have had to go into hiding, that she and her family weren’t gathered up and sent to a concentration camp, and finally, that she wouldn’t have died from typhus at the age of 15 while still a prisoner of the Nazis—it was Justin Bieber for finally articulated the one hope for this poor girl that stands above all the others: “Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”
Oh, and the 19 year old pop star also thinks she “was a great girl.”
Serving as an example that all the money and fame in the world can ravage the most innocent child into an almost hilariously sad egomaniac, Justin Bieber recently visited the Anne Frank House, the small home in Amsterdam in which Anne and her family lived in hiding from the Nazis. While signing the museum’s guestbook, Bieber left this message:
“Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a Belieber.”
The press office for the Anne Frank House then issued a statement noting that Bieber’s nutty and insensitive statement was a product of the fact that “he’s 19, it’s a strange life he’s living. It wasn’t very sensible but he didn’t mean bad.”
So, it’s OK, gurl. Don’t U worry—Biebs didn’t mean no bad 2 U. Gurl.
What do you think of the Bieber comment?
