Sting has announced a series of 10 intimate performances in New York City this fall.  The British singer said that the concerts will benefit The Public Theater, with all proceeds going to the arts group based in the city.

The very first show will be on Sept. 25, and the series will run through Oct. 9. members will be given some priority, so listen up: There will be a limited number of tickets set aside for members, and those will go on sale on Saturday at 12 p.m. The pre-sale period will end on Sunday at 8 p.m. These special tickets have to be purchased on the phone by calling (212) 967-7555 and with a special code all members will be given.

On October 2nd, Sting will host an extra special show, which will cater to 100 members who will be picked at random through a lottery. For those of you mega-Sting fans, you’ll notice that the show falls on the singer’s birthday, so you’ll be celebrating with him if you’re the lucky winner.

In a statement, Sting said:

“The Public Theater, a New York institution committed to supporting all of the city’s distinct communities, was a natural fit to perform this material that is, at its core, about the importance of community.”

These shows will offer fans a behind-the-scenes/first look at his new album, The Last Ship, which lands in stores on Sept. 23.
