Signing a deal that was dusted with sparkles and scented with Funyuns and Red Bull in order to keep her attention, Britney Spears has now become, as The AV Club puts it, “a legacy act”—as the singer has agreed to a Las Vegas concert residency for the next two years, earning herself $15 million a year in the process.

Yes, Spears fans, if you’d like to see Britney lip-sync to all her old hits while kinda-sorta still dancing the way she used to, it will have to be in Vegas, as that’s the only place the Britney Spears: Piece of Me live show will be performed.  Beginning on December 27th at Planet Hollywood’s Resort & Casino’s 4,600-seat theater, Britney Spears: Piece of Me will be a 90 minute concert featuring 21 Spears hits (though some will be in medley form).  The set is designed to reflect, and will feature some of, the most “iconic moments of her life” according to the vice president of entertainment for Ceasers.  So look forward to live, in-concert performances that reflect that time Spears bought video games with K-Fed and then discussed whether or not Back to the Future was real, or that time she shaved her head and attacked a man with an umbrella, or—who could forget?—all those shoeless visits to gas stations for Cheetos.

What do you think of the Spears news?
