Pharrell Williams has just announced his next album. He’ll drop G I R L next month via Columbia Records.

The upcoming album will feature the worldwide hit “Happy,” which was featured on the Despicable Me soundtrack and scored the artist an Oscar nomination. Pharrell is expected to perform at the 86th Annual Academy Awards. The track is currently No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has sold more than 2.3 million downloads worldwide, according to Columbia.

In a statement, Pharrell expressed his excitement about GIRL. He said, “When Columbia Records presented me with the opportunity to make an album, three things came to mind. One was the sense of overwhelming honor that I felt when I realized that they were interested in partnering with me on the album that I had always dreamt of making. Two, it would have to feel festive and urgent. And three, I instantly knew it would be called G I R L. I hope you like it.”

Pharrell has been doing a great job as a producer, and he’s been collaborating with a lot of artists lately. Last year he worked with Robin Thicke and T.I. on “Blurred Lines,” and with Daft Punk and Nile Rodgers on “Get Lucky.” G I R L marks his second solo album, and the first since 2006′s In My Mind.
