Lykke Li has really outdone herself with her this time. The Swedish pop singer has released the first music video for her upcoming album I Never Learn, and it’s simply beautiful. The track, titled “Love Me Like I’m Not Made Of Stone,” is an emotional yet simple ballad, and the music video is also very subtle, showing only her from the shoulders up.

In the video, Li is seen heartbroken, with all of the pain being conveyed through her eyes. She doesn’t sing and her lips hardly move except for a few quivers. But her portrayal of a heartbroken soul is haunting and beautiful. Check it out:

Just a few days ago, Li announced that she would release her third LP on May 6th. The singer said that she sees her albums as a trilogy, with Youth Novels being the first one, followed by 2011′s Wounded Rhymes, and this upcoming one as the last in this chapter.

The singer has admitted that she’s always felt “like [she's] been slightly misunderstood.” She added, “As a woman you get judged for appearances or things like that I don’t really care about. If anything I want to be seen as a singer-songwriter rather than a pop artist. I really feel like I’ve found my voice.”

Li has yet to announce a full-on tour but she will perform at New York City’s Apollo Theatre on May 15th and at Los Angeles’ Theatre at the Ace Hotel on May 19th. Tickets to both shows go on sale Friday.

What do you think of the music video? Are you excited for Lykke Li’s forthcoming album?
