Nothing gets in the way of Kanye West and his music-making. The rapper has postponed his Australian tour to work on his new studio album, which is said to have a 2014 release date. More details below.

And no, this isn’t an April Fools prank. RocNation released a press release that read:

“Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia. The tour dates originally scheduled from May 2 to May 11, 2014 will now be played from September 5 to September 15, 2014. All tickets for the initially scheduled shows will be honored for the new dates.”

Back in December, news surfaced that West was working on a seventh album, so this should come as no big surprise. According to Rolling Stone, the new album will contain eight songs.

Kanye last played in Australia in early 2012.  He also headlined at the Splendour in the Grass festival.

Kanye West’s new “Yeezus” Australia tour dates:

Sept. 5 – Perth, Perth Arena
Sept. 7 – Adelaide, Entertainment Centre
Sept. 9 – Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
Sept. 10 – Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena
Sept. 12 – Sydney, Qantas Credit Union Arena
Sept. 13 – Sydney, Qantas Credit Union Arena
Sept. 15 – Brisbane, Entertainment Centre
