Rapper and former Community actor Childish Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover, has started a feud with his record label Glassnote Records. After releasing the video for his latest single “Sweatpants”, off his LP Because The Internet, Gambino went on Twitter to express his anger with the label.
Gambino’s anger erupted from the release of his video, which he claims was mishandled. The rapper Tweeted, “We were told a lot of things were gonna happen and they were all lies. So i’m done. Someone buy me out of this contract.”
During his rant, Gambino also revealed that Def Jam and Atlantic were both interested in signing him and claimed he had been lied to about the video by his label. Here’s the video:
Gambino, who actually doesn’t like being referred to as a rapper, has been very public about the way he feels about his music and himself. Back in October, he posted a hand-written letter on Instagram where he listed some of his fears, including people finding out what he masturbates to. Later he told NME that that outbust wasn’t a “personality crisis, more like a personality outburst.”
